Vertical Band Saw (Woodworking/Lumber Mill)
Applications: Primarily used for splitting logs and boards; it is the main machine in lumber mills. Also used to saw large slabs into thin boards or small squares.
The equipment mainly consists of two saw wheels, one above the other, driving a ring-shaped saw blade in a continuous unidirectional rotation. The lower saw wheel is typically the driving wheel (providing power), while the upper saw wheel is the driven wheel (used to tension the saw blade). The saw blade passes through the workpiece at a relatively high linear speed (approximately 30-60 m/s for woodworking, adjusted according to the material for metal), achieving continuous cutting.
